White Violet Center for Eco-Justice |
Our farm consists of a little over five acres. We have two orchards with apples, peaches, cherries, and a berry patch. The land has been organic for over ten years and biodynamic for two years. Our garden will be certified organic this year. There is a small apiary for harvesting raw honey and we compost manure from our alpaca herd and friendly horses. We sell alpaca fiber as roving, yarn, and finished garments made by volunteers. Please see our website for workshop schedules and more! |
|
Fullcircle Farm |
Fullcircle Farm is a three acre, transitional-organic farm specializing in naturally grown vegetables, flowers, and herbs. We are committed to the promotion of sustainability in our rural community and on our farm. Our focus is on low-till practices and cover cropping to transition a conventionally farmed field, originally worked by the co-owner's great-great-great grandfather. Fullcircle Farm offers bouquets of flowers and ornamental herbs, a wide variety of naturally grown specialty and heirloom vegetables, and fresh culinary herbs. Find us at the Bloomington and Greencastle farmers' markets, or contact J.D. for information about direct or restaurant accounts. |

Presently, we have about 2500 plants with plans of adding another 2000 in the next year or two. Our farm is open to the public from May through mid-September on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. We also have special events like our Lavender Festival (in June) and evening concerts through the summer. |
|
One Sky Certified Organic Farm |
One Sky Farm is designed and operated to produce food while making as light a footprint on the land as we can manage. We spray compost teas to enhance the plants’ built-in self-defense mechanisms, which means low insect and disease pressure, no need for toxic chemical controls, and foods with all the proper nutrition for humans. We have made substantial reforestation and soil conservation efforts. In the farm’s forests, we plant and cultivate at-risk eastern medicinal herbs in an effort to reduce their population decline from habitat loss and over-harvesting. |
|
Local Indiana Food Enterprises (LIFE) |
LIFE Certified Organic Farm is located in Morgan County and is operated jointly by two local families. Our vision is to provide fresh, high quality, nutritious food year round to the local Indiana consumer as a primary alternative to purchasing out-of-state produce. We work hard to ensure that our farm keeps our high environmental and quality standards. Through our extended season farming practices, we are able to provide excellent organic produce including peppers, basil, tomatoes, cucumbers, and squash. |
|
Hunter's Honey |
We are a family of beekeepers that started in 1910 and are now in our fourth generation of producing honey in Indiana. We manage several hundred hives throughout Indiana for varietal honey and pollination. We then use our honey, wax, and pollen to produce value added foods. And we also enjoy giving tours of our honey farm. We enjoy making life sweeter for our customers. |

We love what we do and welcome visitors to our Spring Open Farm Days on Sundays and Mondays in May. |

Check out Mixed Greens Restaurant on North College Avenue – their wheatgrass is grown in our greenhouse. Linnea’s Greenhouse—where we grow year round! |
|
The Chile Woman |
Chiles are a wonderful crop, as delicious as they are beautiful. There are over 3000 varieties, but few are available commercially. Saving heirloom vegetable seeds and helping preserve biogenetic diversity is an important part of my farming operation. My business is organic: free ranging chickens, beneficial weeds, and lady bugs provide insect control. My partner Terry Morgan’s sheep grace the fields with nature’s fertilizer. My main business is shipping plants, but Terry and I love to have people come to the greenhouse and visit with us. |
|
Rastazumska Productions |
Rastazumska Productions is part of a recently established urban homestead in Bloomington. We are located on an acre of land and we consider ourselves urban farmers. We produce naturally grown (chemical free) produce and specialize in cherry tomatoes, hot and exotic chilies, mixed greens, raspberries, blackberries, blueberries, and wildflowers. We also offer an "urban compost" mix for gardeners. We encourage families to visit and to learn more about growing food efficiently and sustainably in urban settings. |

Please see our website for information about our farm days! |

Our farm is located 22 miles southwest of Bloomington in Greene County. We have been growing and selling since 1994. We are an unconventional farm, in that we rely on the natural abilities of the soil combined with the traditional farming practices of cover cropping, crop rotation, and periodic fallowing. We do not use hormones or antibiotics. Sunday visits welcomed, but call ahead. Thanks… Jeff and Elizabeth. |

We raise Icelandic sheep for breeding and selling wool products such as yarn, roving, and felted items as well as meat. We also raise numerous vegetables, wheat for flour, and peacocks. |
|

We are a 5th generation farm. Our primary focus for some time has been organic grassfed and finished beef and lamb. We use M.I.G. rotational grazing and green plowdown crops to build soil fertility. We have branched out into vegetables, primarily asparagus and sweet corn, and are looking into expanding into various berry varieties. Our products are only available at the farm. We encourage on-farm visits and wish to build relationships with customers who want to see, know, and trust how their food is grown. |
|
Olde Lane Orchard |
In 2002 we purchased a 10–acre orchard off State Road 231 in northern Daviess County. Both our home and the orchard are accessed by long-standing farm lanes—hence the name “Olde Lane Orchard.” Ours is a family business. Our children learn responsibility and life skills as they help prune, thin peaches, mow around the trees, and harvest fruit. Our homemade greenhouse, one acre vegetable patch, and small bakery operation fill the off-season with activity. Although most of our products are distributed through farm markets, local customers visit our house regularly. |
