Join the Guild!

The Local Growers Guild (LGG) connects, supports and educates local growers businesses, consumers and communities in Southern Indiana. We currently have three categories of membership:

Producer Members are the farmers who form the basis of our organization. Producer members must be producers of local agricultural goods such as vegetables, fruit, meat, eggs, maple syrup, honey, or wool. Annual dues are $40 and membership includes the following benefits:

  • Entry in Local Growers Guide
  • Access to a promotional website page (within the LGG site) to market your farm.
  • 8 x 10 weatherproof LGG logo for market stands.
  • Distinction from nonmembers whenever LGG promotes any growers.
  • Reduced fees for Winter Guild Gathering.
  • Priority notification when buyers seek goods through the LGG.
  • Bimonthly newsletter "Locally Grown News"
  • Notification of educational opportunities.
  • Priority access and reduced vendor fees for Winter Market.
  • Use of office equipment (scanner, printer, laminator) for farm business.
  • One vote in all LGG business as outlined in the bylaws First time members will also receive a three pocket organic cotton apron with the LGG logo and website.

Retailer Members are businesses such as restaurants and grocery stores that commit to purchasing local agricultural goods. While they do not have voting rights, they are an essential part of the local food economy and are valuable members of our organization. Annual dues are $225 and membership includes the following benefits:

  • Advertisement in the Local Growers Guide.
  • Promotion at events like "Dine Local Night."
  • Assistance in locating sources for local goods.
  • 8 x 10 weatherproof LGG logo for business windows.
  • Bimonthly newsletter "Locally Grown News"
  • Reduced fees for Winter Market and other LGG events.

Community Members are community members who are dedicated to supporting local growers by spending $12 per week on local goods. Community members are also sometimes referred to as "consumer members" with the understanding that being a consumer is part of life and it can be done in a constructive, supportive way. Annual dues are $12 and membership includes the following benefits:

  • Listing in the Local Growers Guide.
  • Bimonthly newsletter "Locally Grown News"
  • Free "Buy Local" bumper sticker.
  • Reduced fees for LGG events.
