F. Scott Thomas, is new to the board of directors for the LGG and is honored to have the opportunity to be a part of an organization that so completely ties in with his passions and joys of life! He grew up in Evansville IN with a mother who taught him everything she knew about gardening, which was a lot. She also taught him that sometimes the best way to learn is just to do and that he excels at that! Scott has spent his whole life developing his passion for growing and loves teaching others to do so, like his wife of three years, Elizabeth Dorman. The family, including Connor (21) and Payton (16) enjoys eating the fruits of their labors from their garden and are always looking to learn and expand their knowledge. Last year they learned how to can and Scott is learning about bee keeping. They currently have a large garden at their property in Michigan and also one at their home in Ellettsville.
Scott has spent 30 years working in the transportation industry but during that entire time his goal was to work in endeavors that he was passionate about by the age of 50. He met that goal early because at the age of 48 he became a Town Council member for the Town of Ellettsville Indiana, where he lives. And his role with local government has currently expanded to include Vice President of the Town Council, and is a member of the Ellettsville Planning Committee and Monroe County Metropolitan Planning Organization-Policy Committee.
