Devin, his wife Cara, and their two children, Shawnee and Trillium live on 26 acres in Monroe County. He has been farming specialty vegetables for the past 8 years in Upstate New York and Southern Illinois. As newcomers to the Bloomington area, Devin and his family plan to produce a diversity of products for local eaters.
He has advocated for organic and sustainable farmers in Southern Illinois, throughout the Midwest region, and on the federal level as a representative of non-profits’ Food Works and the Illinois Stewardship Alliance. Most recently, Devin was a board member of the Carbondale Community Farmers Market.
Devin’s personal goals are to continue to learn (and teach) scale-appropriate farming techniques that support biodiversity, reduce fossil fuel consumption, optimize food nutrition, and improve profitability for local farmers.
