After many years gaining experience with other organic farms, Bobbi now owns and manages Sundry Farm with her partner John and daughter Eliza. The goal for Sundry Farm is to become closed loop, integrating all aspects of the farm to realize the best production with the least external inputs. Sundry farm started with produce and eggs for a small CSA and vending at the Bloomington Community Farmers’ Market. Now it offers compost for others to grow well, and is preparing to add a few small animals. Bobbi is also the Garden and Gleaning Coordinator at Hoosier Hills Food Bank, working with many volunteers, to increase the supply of healthful produce for area food agencies.
Bobbi believes that cooperation is essential to build a strong local food economy. Her passion developed early on through working at Bloomingfoods, and volunteering with the Community Kitchen and Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard. With much support from other farmers and mentors she has become increasing more involved in strengthening the local food economy for growers and community members.
Bobbi is a founding member of the Local Growers’ Guild, and has served previously as President, Treasurer and Secretary.
